Class B Local Delivery Driver

We are looking for an energetic driver to handle routes from our facilities across Chicago and the surrounding areas.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Drive a variety of company vehicles throughout the greater Chicago metropolitan area, providing reliable and professional service.
• Help Shrink-wrap pallets and prepare skids to ensure products are securely packaged for transportation when needed.
• Take ownership of loading, packing, and inventorying deliveries, ensuring products are handled accurately and securely.
• Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, including fuel, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes, to ensure vehicles remain in safe and proper working condition.
• Identify and promptly report mechanical issues or other vehicle-related concerns.
• Load and unload trucks, vans, handling materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Comply with all applicable traffic laws and established transportation and safety procedures.
• Read maps and follow written and verbal directions to efficiently navigate customer routes and delivery locations.
• Maintain accurate records, including vehicle logs, delivery and pickup documentation, mileage, fuel receipts, and other required paperwork, in accordance with company procedures and applicable regulations.
• Communicate delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation issues to the Shipping Supervisor or appropriate Darwill contact by phone or other approved method of communication.
