Class B Shuttle Driver

Operates a Class B shuttle to transport patients and visitors between a parking lot and medical buildings, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and courteous service.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Shuttle Driver's primary duty is to provide safe, efficient, and courteous transportation for customers traveling between the parking lot and various hospital and medical buildings. This involves carefully navigating routes and making sure all passengers have a pleasant and welcoming experience. *Must have a valid CA Class C, B, or C driver's license and a clean driving record. Must be 23 or older.*
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive vehicles over specified routes or destinations according to time schedules, complying with traffic regulations to ensure passengers have a smooth and safe ride.
- Inspect vehicles and check gas, oil, and water levels before departure.
- Inspect vehicles regularly to find any unsafe conditions or maintenance issues; Perform routine cleaning
- Maintains a clean, pleasant, and calm environment inside the shuttle (including but not limited to windows rolled up, interior lights on, no air freshener spraying, no items on the dashboard, and no food on the shuttle)
- Keeps all areas of the shuttle clean (including shuttle interior and windows)
- Park vehicles at loading areas so that passengers can board.
- Advise passengers to be seated and orderly while in vehicles.
- Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort.
- Assist passengers, such as elderly or disabled individuals, on and off the shuttle, ensure they are correctly seated, and answer questions about shuttle schedules or routes.
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of passengers, including the safe operation and handling of specialized equipment for unloading passengers with special needs (i.e, wheelchair lifts and tie-downs)
- Handle passenger emergencies or disruptions.
- Record information, such as customer and trip counts, and maintain a log book.
- Immediately reports any incidents or claims to the Facility Manager or shift supervisor
- Report any vehicle malfunctions or maintenance needs to the Facility Manager
- Complies with all applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations and requirements governing, including the Department of Transportation
- Follows all company policies and procedures as outlined in Modern Transit Inc.’s Employee Handbook
- Performs additional duties as reasonably requested by Management, especially during downtimes
- Maintains and regulates safety procedures, such as ensuring passengers are wearing seat belts (if applicable)
- Complies with all uniform and appearance guidelines
