Discussion

Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Class Teacher to join our dedicated team and help our school continue to ‘Shine Brightly’.

This is an exciting opportunity to teach our Year 6 class in a full-time, fixed-term maternity cover role until 31 August 2027, or until the return of the substantive postholder, whichever is sooner. We are looking for someone who will bring enthusiasm, creativity and a commitment to ensuring every child thrives, both academically and personally.

About Beacon

Beacon is a primary school and nursery for children aged 3 to 11, with an Area Resource Base supporting pupils from the age of 4.

We hope children will join us from the age of 3, enjoying our fantastic outdoor Nursery before progressing through the school and thriving in the provision offered within each year group. By the time they leave us at the end of Year 6, we want our pupils to be confident, well-rounded young people, equipped with the skills and foundations they need for secondary school and their longer-term futures.

Our three key values are:

Be Brilliant
Be Brave
Believe

These complement our Trust Core Shared Values and our Trust philosophy of ‘work hard, be honest & help others’. They underpin everything we do and help every child and member of our school community to ‘Shine Brightly’.

About Kernow Learning

Kernow Learning is a multi-academy trust of 21 primary schools in Cornwall. We believe our Trust is at the precipice of something great. Through a combination of collective synchronicity and autonomy, our schools work together to provide strength, enabling them to stretch their offer beyond expectations in their drive for excellence.

Our Trust is not insular. We embrace collaboration, innovation and development. Our English Hub supports schools across Cornwall to secure children’s early reading, whilst our Teaching School Hub, as a partner in OneCornwall, provides services to schools across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly in areas including the Early Career Framework and National Professional Qualifications.

As part of Kernow Learning, you will join a Trust committed to Building Excellent Schools Together, where colleagues are empowered to grow, collaborate and make a meaningful difference to the lives of children and families across Cornwall.

Benefits

As well as offering great schools to work in, wonderful children to work with and fantastic colleagues to work alongside, our Trust is committed to providing colleagues with benefits that make employment with Kernow Learning the best it can be.

We offer:

A competitive salary and membership of the Teachers’ Pension Scheme
A real commitment to wellbeing, including access to 24/7 wellbeing services and our Employee Assistance Programme
Access to discounts with national and local retailers and service providers
A range of CPD and training opportunities, both internally and externally, including opportunities to learn from local and national speakers and specialists
The support, knowledge and skills of our networks of colleagues across our schools and Shared Services teams
