Summary
Deploys and maintains OpenFGA on AWS EKS using Terraform and Argo CD, automating infrastructure and ensuring security, high availability, and cost efficiency for a federal client.
The work:
AWS Cloud Engineer will deploy, configure, and operate OpenFGA infrastructure on AWS EKS, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. Responsibilities:
- Deploy and configure OpenFGA on AWS EKS cluster
- Design and implement infrastructure-as-code (Terraform / Argo CD)
- Configure networking, load balancing, and service mesh
- Ensure security compliance (IAM, security groups, encryption, network policies)
- Manage database infrastructure for OpenFGA (RDS/Aurora)
- Implement backup and disaster recovery procedures
- Optimize resource utilization and costs
- Participate in on-call rotation for infrastructure support
- Document infrastructure architecture and runbooks
Here’s what you need:
- Experience in cloud engineering, preferably AWS.
- Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform and Argo CD
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitLab
- Understanding of networking concepts like VPN, VPCs, DNS, and load balancing
- Basic scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Active Secret clearance
- Must be willing to go onsite 2-3x/week in Arlington
