What Your Job Will Be Like

We are seeking a Engineering Support Technologist to join our dynamic team!

On any given day, you may be called on to:

• Perform initial diagnostics on nonconformances, monitor area health, identify ways to increase yields, and mistake-proof processes.
• Support and implement corrective or preventative actions.
• Seek out and pursue opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Support programs associated with automated production equipment.
• Implement new manufacturing technologies or equipment.
• Be involved with new process/equipment development and qualification.
• Maintain written work instructions.
• Ensure accurate training of operators.

Due to the nature of work, successful candidate must be able to work onsite.

Salary Range

$74,700 - $144,400

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require

• Associate's Degree in a STEM field plus 2 or more years of experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Active DOE Q-level (or DOD equivalent) security clearance.

Qualifications We Desire

• Experience in the use of Oracle, ARAS, Prime, and EIMS tools deployed at Sandia Labs
• Experience in the application of the scientific method; gathering, analyzing and presenting technical data for decision making/problem solving purposes
• Basic knowledge and/or exposure to Lean/Six Sigma and continuous improvement concepts and methodologies
• Basic knowledge of design for manufacturability (DMF) and its application.
• Project planning and execution capabilities

About Our Team

Department 7562 safely manufactures neutron generators for War Reserve weapons systems and the development of new processes and generator designs. Our responsibilities include manufacturing planning, configuration control, and the establishment and maintenance of schedules to assure that the Nuclear Weapons Complex need for neutron generators is met. Security Clearance

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD). Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
