Seeking Expressions of Interest for Auckland Council - Client Director

We’re seeking an experienced leader to steward one of Beca’s largest and most influential portfolios with an annual forecast revenue of $40 million.

You’ll lead a diverse suite of portfolio leads and workstreams, champion Auckland Council’s needs inside Beca, and align our services to the Council’s evolving priorities through a period of significant local and legislative change.

In this role, you will deepen executive and economic buyer relationships across the Council, own major pursuit and bid strategies, and drive commercial performance (revenue, margin, profile) while identifying new growth.

You’ll maintain a forward-looking Client Relationship Plan that responds to LTP cycles, shared services initiatives, RMA reforms and the Auckland Deal, strengthening C‑suite engagement and “building the zipper” across stakeholders.

Collaboration is core—working closely with Water and Transport leadership, the Northern Region, and the Local Government Regional Leadership Team. This role will be the majority of your focus, with additional time on strategic projects and key pursuits related to the client and region.

You will be accountable to the General Manager, Government and DNS (Johnny McFarlane) – and reporting and working day-to-day with Rupert Hodson, Market Lead – Local Government.

You bring: sharp commercial acumen, proven executive‑level relationship skills, deep local‑government insight, and the confidence to lead complex, cross‑functional teams through change.
