Client Engagement Coordinator (Student)
Purpose of this Position:
The Center for Social Justice (CSJ) is looking for a highly motivated individual to provide key administrative and communications
support to its legal programs and office operations. The CSJ operates free legal services programs for the community, including the
Consumer Debt Initiative and CORI Sealing & Expungement Project, through which students at WNE Law may gain experiential learning
opportunities. The CSJ also serves as a hub for public interest activity and innovative, interdisciplinary research and advocacy at WNE
Law. The Client Engagement Coordinator will work closely with the CSJ Director, Staff Attorney, law students, volunteers, and clients,
exercising sound judgment, maintaining strict confidentiality, and managing multiple priorities in a faced-past legal and academic setting.
Essential Job Functions:
The Client Engagement Coordinator ensures that the CSJ maintains timely and accurate communication with active clients as well as
community members who contact our office for assistance. This entails coordinating both ingoing and outgoing communications through
multiple channels. The Client Engagement Coordinator communicates professionally, compassionately, and respectfully. Additionally,
the Client Engagement Coordinator also ensures that the CSJ is telling its story effectively to target audiences, thereby generating
visibility, building community, and maintaining engagement.
Client Engagement:
· Manage incoming and outgoing communications from CSJ office phone and organizational email.
· Conduct client intake, eligibility screening, and referral coordination.
· Coordinate appointments, follow-up and reminder communications, and case-related administrative processes.
· Accurately log data in client management software.
· Assist with processing incoming mail and court intakes.
· Maintain referral sheet for legal and social services.
Community Outreach & Social Media
· Operate CSJ social media accounts (Instagram, LinkedIn)
· Design content for CSJ social media, website, and other external communications (e.g., newsletter).
· Assist CSJ Director in coordinating with WNE communications and marketing teams.
· Maintain CSJ alumni database and ensure that students, alumni, and stakeholders remain engaged with CSJ social media.
· Help advertise CSJ events and services.
· Attend events and clinics when possible.
This position is expected to require approximately 18–20 hours per week.
