Client Opening - Accounting Manager
Corrigan Krause is assisting their client in the search for a permanent Accounting Manager located in North Royalton, Ohio. The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting foundation, manufacturing industry experience, and a passion for process improvement and technology. This position is both hands-on and strategic, supporting day-to-day accounting while helping drive long-term operations.
Responsibilities
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Accounting & Close
- Oversee all general ledger activity, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and review financial statements, key performance indicators (KPIs), and management reporting packages.
- Perform variance, trend, and ad hoc financial analysis to support decision-making and improve financial performance.
Technology
- Strong affinity for systems, software applications, and process improvement, with the ability to quickly learn, adopt, and optimize new technologies
- Strong working knowledge with using Microsoft Suite, especially Excel and Outlook
- Proactive technology user who can become a systems “power user” and internal resource/trainer over time
- Experience with Salesforce.com (SFDC) and Accounting Seed preferred
Manufacturing & Operational Finance
- Partner with operations to ensure accurate cost accounting, including inventory, work-in-process (WIP), and job costing.
- Analyze production costs, labor efficiency, and overhead absorption to improve gross margins and operational performance.
- Monitor and evaluate margin performance by product line, project, and customer.
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Maintain and enhance internal controls to ensure financial accuracy, asset protection, and audit readiness.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, tax requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
Tax & External Coordination
- Oversee tax compliance (income, sales/use, and other filings) in coordination with external advisors.
- Manage relationships with external CPA firms, including financial statement reviews/audits and timely resolution of findings.
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff; establish accountability, cross-training, and team scalability.
