South Hills Interfaith Movement’s (SHIM) mission is to mobilize community resources and implement sustainable programs that compassionately help neighbors meet basic needs, achieve self-sufficiency, and build community. SHIM provides food, clothing, financial aid, education, family support, and a host of other services to 8,500 people in need in Pittsburgh’s southern suburban neighborhoods. In response to the unique challenges faced by the local refugee and immigrant population, SHIM operates programming designed to support children and families in this demographic.

Job Summary:
The Client Outreach Coordinator is responsible for building strong, supportive relationships with individuals and families in the community and ensuring they remain connected to SHIM programs and services that promote long term stability and economic mobility. This position serves as an ongoing resource and trusted connection for clients who have previously accessed short term assistance programs, helping them identify and engage with additional resources and opportunities that support their ongoing goals and well-being.
As a newly developed role, the Client Outreach Coordinator will play an important part in creating welcoming, client-centered outreach strategies that encourage continued engagement and strengthen trust within the community. The coordinator will develop and manage communication and follow-up systems, including phone outreach, newsletters, email communication, and participation in community and program events. This role requires a proactive, relationship focused professional who is comfortable building new processes, collaborating across programs, and finding creative ways to connect community members with the support and services available through SHIM.
This position is fully onsite. Employees are expected to work in person at SHIM’s designated work location(s) in alignment with organizational needs and position requirements. There will be local travel within the South Hills.
