Our Mining & Metals group is a leader in future-led end to end mining solutions and delivery of services to our clients. We specialise in delivering comprehensive and tailored solutions for the mining industry. Our team manages and executes large-scale capital projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety and leave a lasting positive legacy in the communities we engage with.

What you’ll do:

This role is accountable for driving a disciplined, high-performing growth framework across the Mining & Metals business, with direct oversight and responsibility for pipeline performance, business development effectiveness, and strategic pursuit execution. The position acts as a key extension of the Director – Clients and Growth, providing leadership with clear visibility of pipeline performance, enforcing accountability across the business, and uplifting capability in business development and strategic bidding practices. Your main focus will be broken down into 3 key areas;

Pipeline Management and Growth

  • Lead pipeline governance across Mining & Metals, with primary accountability for our Mining and Metals West Business and our Mine Advisory Business.
  • Maintain a high-quality pipeline, ensuring visibility of strategic opportunities, revenue forecasts, conversion assumptions, risks and gaps.
  • Drive consistency in opportunity identification, qualification and progression, aligned to business priorities.
  • Provide regular pipeline reporting and insights to support decision-making and growth planning.
  • Work with Business Unit Leaders and Client Leads to strengthen pipeline coverage, accountability and conversion performance.

Strategic Pursuits and Business Development

  • Oversee the prioritisation, governance and execution of strategic pursuits and major bids.
  • Facilitate effective Go/No-Go decisions, bid planning and pursuit reviews to improve win rates and bid quality. Champion best-practice business development processes, client relationship management and opportunity qualification.
  • Develop and deliver business development capability initiatives, including coaching and training for client-facing leaders and teams.
  • Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement in pursuit performance and business development effectiveness.

Client Growth and Continuous Improvement

  • Support Business Unit Leaders to develop and execute growth strategies for priority clients and markets.
  • Facilitate collaboration across service lines to deliver integrated client solutions and growth opportunities.
  • Provide market intelligence and client insights to inform strategic decisions and business planning.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance, risk management, business systems and quality requirements.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration and high performance across the Mining & Metals business.

About you:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Business development, client management or pursuit management training (desirable).

Experience and Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in business development, growth leadership, client engagement or strategic pursuits within a professional services environment.
  • Strong understanding of the Mining & Metals sector and project delivery environment.
  • Proven capability in pipeline management, strategic pursuits, bid governance and growth strategy execution.
  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across business units and service lines.
  • Commercially astute, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates integrity, accountability and a commitment to continuous improvement and developing others.
  • Highly organised, proactive and outcome-driven, with strong attention to detail.
