Job Summary
Climate Policy Associate focused on monitoring emerging climate and carbon market policies across APAC and assessing their potential business impact. Supports policy research, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy efforts by analyzing future regulatory developments and collaborating with external consultants, industry groups, and internal teams. Ideal for a junior professional with a strong interest in influencing and shaping future climate policy.
KeyResponsibilities
- Track, monitor, and analyze climate policies, regulations, and standards across APAC markets, with a focus on Japan, S.Korea, Australia, and Vietnam.
- Assess regulatory developments related to:
Corporate and product carbon emissions reporting and disclosure requirements
Carbon claims, certifications, and labeling frameworks
Carbon markets, carbon trading schemes, and related policy mechanisms
- Partner with external consultants to gather intelligence on emerging climate regulations, policy trends, and compliance requirements.
- Evaluate the business and sustainability impacts of evolving climate policies and provide strategic recommendations to internal stakeholders.
- Identify, map, and maintain relationships with key climate policy stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, industry associations, think tanks, and policy influencers across APAC.
- Support the development and execution of stakeholder engagement and advocacy strategies to advance environmental and sustainability objectives.
- Prioritize external engagement opportunities and facilitate interactions with policymakers, regulators, and industry groups on climate-related initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including environmental, sustainability, regulatory, product, and supply chain functions, to address climate policy implications.
- Conduct research and analysis using international carbon accounting methodologies, emissions databases, and sustainability frameworks.
- Monitor emerging trends in carbon accounting, emissions reporting, decarbonization, and climate governance to support long-term environmental leadership strategies.
- Provide insights on climate-related regulatory risks and opportunities affecting the electronics industry and its APAC supply chain ecosystem.
- Support corporate environmental initiatives aimed at reducing climate impact, improving resource efficiency, and advancing sustainability commitments.
Key Qualifications
•3-5 years of relevant working experience in climate policy and carbon markets
•Proven experience working on climate related regulations and standards
•Proven experience working with key regulatory authorities and policy influencers in key APAC countries including Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Australia etc.
•Self-motivated and pro-active altitude
•Good planning and project management skills
•Master degree in Science or Engineering
•Knowledge about international carbon accounting methodology and database
•Knowledge about electronic industry and its supply chain in APAC
