We're looking for a hands-on, decisive leader to run day-to-day operations of a high-volume, fast-paced oncology clinic. This is not a maintenance role, we need someone ready to modernize how the clinic runs:, streamlining clinical workflows, and upgrading our systems (including AI-enabled tools) to improve efficiency, patient care, and staff performance. You will directly lead nurses, medical assistants, laboratory, and pharmacy personnel, and will be the operational backbone connecting clinical care, billing, research, and administration.
General Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management; Master’s degree preferred
- 3+ years managing an oncology clinic or comparable healthcare setting
- Strong financial acumen: budgeting and oncology billing codes
- Proven ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary clinical teams under pressure
- A track record of driving operational change, not just maintaining the status quo
- Excellent communication skills across clinical, administrative, and executive levels
Team Leadership & Operations
- Direct daily clinic operations, including patient treatment flow and monitoring
- Lead, schedule, and manage clinic staff, including hiring, training, performance reviews, and goal-setting
- Redesign staff schedules (regular, overtime, PTO) to maximize efficiency and control labor costs
- Resolve patient and staff issues quickly and equitably
- Run monthly clinical staff meetings with clear agendas
- Build and continuously update clinic SOPs — with an eye toward modernizing outdated workflows
Systems & Process Improvement
- Evaluate and implement new tools and technology, including AI-driven solutions, to streamline scheduling, documentation, and clinical workflows
- Identify inefficiencies across departments and drive practical, fast-turnaround fixes, potential new sources of revenue such as infusions, physician practices, and laboratory tests
- Ensure equipment stays functional, compliant, and inspected on schedule
Pharmacy & Lab Oversight
- Coordinate with pharmacy, physicians, and accounting with respect to drug ordering and cost control
- Ensure CURES compliance
- Support the lab director in maintaining CLIA compliance (equipment, supplies, staffing) and provide backup coverage for specimen processing/reporting when needed
Billing & Compliance
- Ensure superbills are submitted daily and escalations from the billing team are resolved promptly
- Attend weekly billing/accounting meetings to keep AR balances low
Clinical Research Support
- Partner closely with the Clinical Research Lead to support trial patients, staffing needs, and insurance approvals for trial-related treatment
- Ensure research staff have the platforms, resources, and communication access needed to work with CROs, pharma, and biotech partners
- Track research-related invoices and liaise with financial team
