Position Overview
Gateway Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced and motivated Orthopedic Clinic Manager to oversee the daily administrative and operational activities of our orthopedic clinic.
The Orthopedic Clinic Manager will be responsible for coordinating clinic operations, supporting providers and staff, maintaining efficient patient flow, and ensuring a high level of customer service and patient satisfaction. This position works closely with physicians, clinical staff, and hospital leadership to promote efficient, compliant, and patient-centered orthopedic services.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with experience in a medical office or healthcare environment.
What You'll Do
- Oversee the daily operations of the orthopedic clinic and ensure efficient workflow
- Lead, supervise, and support front-office and administrative clinic staff
- Coordinate staffing, scheduling, assignments, and daily clinic coverage
- Support efficient patient registration, scheduling, check-in, check-out, and referral processes
- Monitor patient flow and work with clinical and provider teams to address operational concerns
- Assist with provider scheduling and coordination of clinic services
- Ensure staff follow established hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Monitor department productivity, quality, and customer service standards
- Address patient concerns and assist with service recovery when necessary
- Collaborate with orthopedic providers and clinical staff to identify opportunities for operational improvement
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management of clinic staff
- Maintain appropriate staffing and administrative documentation
- Monitor office supplies, equipment, and other operational needs
- Assist with billing, insurance, authorization, and referral processes as needed
- Promote accurate and timely documentation and compliance with applicable healthcare regulations
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies
- Participate in department meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and other organizational projects
- Serve as a resource and leader for clinic staff while promoting a professional, respectful, and collaborative work environment
What You'll Bring
Education
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred:
- Associate's degree or higher in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field
- Coursework in medical terminology and/or healthcare office management
Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a medical office, physician practice, orthopedic clinic, or healthcare-related administrative environment preferred
- Previous supervisory or management experience preferred
- Experience working with physicians, clinical staff, patients, and insurance processes preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare office operations
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively lead, coach, and support a diverse team
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong problem-solving and customer service skills
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and standard office technology preferred
