Summary:
The Clinical Equipment Operations Manager supports RENOVOTrac, Renovo’s medical equipment distribution and management program, by leading all daily operations of an assigned hospital-based department. Reporting to the Director of Clinical Equipment Distribution & Readiness, the Manager is accountable for staffing and team development, equipment availability and inventory accuracy, cleaning and infection prevention compliance, service-level performance, customer relationships, labor and operating costs, and continuous improvement. The role oversees the full department and ensures reliable, measurable service delivery.
What You Will Do:
Equipment Readiness & Infection Prevention
  • Ensure employees can access and are trained to follow equipment-specific manufacturer Instructions for Use (IFUs), approved cleaning and disinfection procedures, and hospital infection prevention and control policies. Monitor compliance through observations, quality audits, documentation review, and corrective action; stop and escalate work when instructions are unavailable, unclear, or conflict with facility requirements.
  • Verify equipment is properly identified, documented, and ready for redistribution; segregate equipment requiring additional cleaning, inspection, or repair.
  • Coordinate safe handoffs to Clinical Engineering for malfunctioning, damaged, or unsafe equipment; do not independently perform repairs outside authorized training.
Equipment Flow, Inventory & Technology
  • Support accurate equipment location, status, availability, and inventory records through RENOVOTrac systems and RENOVOLive reporting.
  • Promote timely retrieval, turnaround, and delivery of movable medical equipment in accordance with established service-level expectations.
  • Identify missing equipment, inventory discrepancies, idle assets, and rental opportunities; escalate findings for resolution.
Customer Service & Safety
  • Communicate professionally with nursing, clinical departments, and hospital partners regarding requests, priorities, and service issues.
  • Follow facility safety rules, PPE requirements, confidentiality/HIPAA expectations, and appropriate chemical-handling practices.
Site Leadership & Performance
  • Own site operating plans, service-level agreements, staffing coverage, productivity, cleaning compliance, equipment turnaround, and customer issue resolution.
  • Establish daily and periodic operational reviews using RENOVOLive dashboards; address performance gaps with corrective actions and documented follow-through.
  • Coordinate with the Director and Clinical Engineering on escalations, maintenance handoffs, equipment availability, and program improvements.
People Management
  • Directly supervise assigned employees, including hiring input or decisions within delegated authority, scheduling, coaching, performance evaluations, corrective action, and employee development.
  • Plan staffing levels, shifts, training, and cross-coverage to meet volume, service, and labor targets; maintain a safe and accountable team culture.
Customer & Financial Accountability
  • Serve as primary operational contact for hospital leaders and clinical stakeholders; conduct recurring customer performance reviews and follow up on service concerns.
  • Manage site labor and operating expenses against approved budgets; review productivity, inventory loss/shrinkage, rental utilization, and opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Maintain accurate service, equipment, and customer records; support contract compliance, billing data integrity, renewal readiness, and service expansion discussions with the Director.
Education, Skills & Experience
  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered.
  • 3–5 years of progressively responsible experience in hospital operations, healthcare support services, logistics, or service management preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct supervisory or people management experience, including responsibility for employee performance, staffing, training, and day-to-day operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, analyze operational KPIs, manage customer relationships, and understand financial and budget performance.
Work Environment & Safety
  • Hospital-based role involving prolonged standing/walking, bending, pushing/pulling equipment carts, and occasional lifting; validating specific physical demands through a job analysis.
  • May require varied shifts, weekends, holidays, and urgent service coverage based on customer needs.
  • Follow applicable OSHA, hospital infection prevention, PPE, chemical safety, and patient privacy requirements.
