Clinical Laboratory Associate
Join Our Team as a Full-Time Laboratory Associate!
Are you passionate about scientific exploration and laboratory operations? We're seeking a dedicated Laboratory Associate to join our dynamic team. As a key member, you'll play a vital role in various laboratory tasks, including specimen logistics, accessioning, specimen and reagent preparations, laboratory housekeeping, and waste management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assemble specimen collection kits for distribution.
- Utilize FedEx, UPS, and USPS for shipping and receiving packages.
- Reconcile daily receipt of specimens and conduct data entry accessioning.
- Perform quality control and quality assurance of accurate data entry functions.
- Extract DNA or RNA from different specimen types using automated platforms.
- Assist in preparing specimens for quantity and quality assessment prior to testing.
- Perform clerical duties associated with specimen preparation and workflow tracking.
- Check temperature monitoring devices for functionality.
- Document equipment usage logs.
- Participate in lab organization, housekeeping, and maintenance activities.
- Prepare reagents following approved procedures for laboratory testing.
- Adhere to the laboratory’s quality control policies and document all quality control activities.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences preferred.
- At least one (1) year of directly related laboratory experience.
- Proven ability to type 80 words per minute
Skills:
- Ability to work independently and as a self-starter.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize, work under pressure, and handle multiple tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy required.
- Ability to maintain laboratory records.
Hardware/Software Experience:
- Computer literate with the ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite Products, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Experience using Microsoft Teams for communication and presentations.
- Ability to use Laboratory Information System (LIS) software.
Complexity:
- Ability to perform highly detailed work with sustained attention and care while providing/obtaining information on numerous inquiries is paramount to success in this position.
Note: All applicants will be required to pass an onsite Excel and typing test.
