Clinical Laboratory Scientist

About the Position: This position is located within Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) in the Department of pathology, Honolulu, Hawaii. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Directs and manages Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) programs in the department and database applications related to processing physician request for laboratory tests.

Provide leadership, direction and technical expertise in the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of the Information Management Systems to assure the delivery of consistently high quality diagnostic laboratory services.

Responsible for overall Clinical Pathology and Anatomic Pathology computer support and new system/software implementation in the Military Treatment Facility.

Provides ancillary support to multiple Military Treatment Facilities interfaced healthcare organizations within the regional healthcare network.

Performs program analysis implementation and validation for new and modified programs either directly, through supervision of bench technologists, or through coordination with IMD personnel or through the use of contractors.

Participates in enterprise, regional, and organizational workgroups for standardization, consolidation and testing of computer systems and programming before deployment.

Ensures documentation of programs and files is carried out in accordance with guidelines of the Defense Health Agency and Defense Medical Information System standards.

Ensures correctness of clinical laboratory data such as reviewing and interpreting submissions for file and table building (e.g., units of measures, etc.)

Conducts investigation of cause of downtime, restarts interface, defines problems and fixes software to restore operations.
