Clinical Laboratory Scientist

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located at Naval Hospital Beaufort, S.C.

Prepares standards, controls, solutions, and reagents required for testing.

Performs primary review of patient results.

Correlates data with other laboratory findings and/or patient history to ensure timely reporting of patient results to requesting clinicians.

Verifies correct instrument operation using established procedures and quality control checks.

Identifies the cause of common and more complex problems and makes repairs, as required.

Assists in evaluating new test procedures and performing specialized studies including establishing constituent normal ranges, comparison and correlation studies.
