Clinical Laboratory Scientist
About the Position: Serves as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in sections of the Laboratory for the Department of Pathology at a Military Treatment Facility. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Evaluates and approves the validity of the data with respect to the assay procedure, condition of the patient specimen, other laboratory data, and to the patient's history.
Verifies and approves individual assay runs and reports results according to quality control procedures and practices.
Determines if additional testing is needed in order to establish a definitive diagnosis and if necessary confers with physicians for appropriate action.
Insures the abnormal result reporting program is conducted appropriately.
Serves on the laboratory Quality Assurance team to help identify, solve, and correct laboratory deficiencies and errors.
Ensures accuracy, reproducibility, and quality control of laboratory procedures.
