About us

AIATELLA is a Helsinki-based medical AI company building software that measures blood vessels automatically from routine medical imaging. Our mission is simple: every vessel, every image, every body.

We are a small, hands-on team. Our software is developed under a quality management system aligned with ISO 13485 and ISO 14971, and involves FDA, EU MDR, and ANVISA bodies. Our clinical evidence programme runs across EMEA, LATAM and North America

The role

We are looking for a Clinical Research Assistant to support our clinical team across research, grant work and project management. This is a broad role in a small company: you will not be doing one thing repeatedly, and you will see how clinical evidence, regulatory submissions and funding fit together.

You will work directly with our CEO and our Clinical Operations Manager, and you will be in regular contact with clinical investigators, hospital research teams and external collaborators.

What you will do

  • Support the day-to-day running of our multi-site clinical studies, including site communication, documentation and study tracking

  • Help maintain study documentation and records to GCP standards, and support data entry and quality checks in our electronic data capture system

  • Assist with ethics and regulatory submissions and the correspondence that follows them

  • Contribute to grant applications and reporting: drafting, evidence gathering, budgets and deadline management

  • Support the preparation of manuscripts, abstracts, posters and conference material

  • Keep projects moving: agendas, minutes, action tracking, and chasing the things that need chasing

  • Carry out literature searches and background research to support clinical, regulatory and commercial work

What we are looking for

Essential

  • At least one year of hands-on experience supporting a live clinical study: recruiting, data collection, monitoring, coordination or similar

  • Working knowledge of GCP and the practical realities of running research at a clinical site

  • Strong written English and confident, professional communication with clinicians and external partners

  • Genuinely organised: comfortable holding several threads at once and keeping accurate records

  • Comfortable in a small team where priorities shift

Desirable

  • Experience with software as a medical device (SaMD), medical devices, or diagnostic imaging studies

  • Familiarity with regulatory pathways such as FDA 510(k), EU MDR or ISO 14155

  • Experience with electronic data capture systems

  • Experience contributing to grant applications, whether national, EU or charitable

  • A background in biomedical science, medical imaging, cardiovascular medicine or a related field

  • Experience working across time zones with international sites

What we offer

  • A permanent, full-time role with real ownership in a growing medical AI company

  • Hybrid working from our Helsinki office

  • Direct involvement in clinical studies that are heading towards regulatory submission in multiple global territories

  • Broad exposure across clinical research, regulatory affairs and funding plans

  • English as our working language; Finnish is not required
