Job Description:
Accenture Federal Services is looking for a Cloud Architect to own the cloud architecture for the program. This role is scoped to one program by design — you'll set the technical direction for Kubernetes, GitOps, and infrastructure-as-code standards for this program's environment, lead the transition of its legacy systems into cloud-native, containerized architectures, and make sure security is designed in from the start rather than retrofitted.
What You'll Own:
- Architectural direction and standards for the program's cloud environment, spanning the engineering teams that build against it
- Cloud adoption and migration strategy for the program, including the path from legacy systems to cloud-native, containerized architectures
- Decisions on infrastructure-as-code, container orchestration, GitOps workflows, and CI/CD tooling for the program's environment
- Security and compliance embedded into the program's cloud architecture — RMF processes, vulnerability management, and cloud security controls (identity, encryption, incident response)
- Alignment between architecture decisions and the program's engineering teams, resolving tradeoffs before they become production problems
- Best practices and governance for how the program manages its cloud environment(s)
What You'll Deliver:
- A documented cloud adoption and migration roadmap for the program, with clear sequencing for legacy-to-cloud-native transitions
- A reference architecture and set of standards that the program's engineering teams actually adopt
- A Kubernetes-based environment — GitOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines — that the program's teams can build against reliably
- Security control implementation that supports the program's ATO/RMF package, not just passes a checklist
- A monitoring and observability approach that gives the program real visibility into cloud performance and health
Here's What You Need:
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) — including infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent), containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud security fundamentals (identity management, encryption, incident response)
- At least 1 year of that experience in an architecture or design-authority role
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or 4+ years of equivalent experience/certifications in lieu of degree
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Experience embedding RMF processes and vulnerability assessments into cloud infrastructure design
- Experience with platform engineering tooling such as Crossplane, Backstage, or Argo CD
- Prior work designing multi-cloud or hybrid cloud service models and security best practices at scale — useful groundwork for growing into broader platform ownership
- Experience with monitoring/observability platforms (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Datadog)
- Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD) or a recognized cloud architect certification
- Familiarity with National Security systems and air-gapped environments
Security Clearance:
- Active TS clearance required; SCI preferred
As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. $120,400—$234,700 USD
