We’re seeking a Cloud Architect to lead the design, implementation, and governance of cloud infrastructure strategies across our hybrid multi-cloud environment. This role will shape the University’s cloud-first future, enabling high-performing, resilient, and secure IT services that power our academic and operational goals.

Reporting to the Enterprise Architect, you’ll work across teams and portfolios to drive enterprise-scale cloud adoption, automation, and innovation

You will make an impact by:

  • Designing enterprise-grade cloud architectures across Azure, AWS, and GCP, aligned with strategic goals, security, and operational excellence
  • Driving cloud transformation and modernization, including migration planning, legacy uplift, and hybrid deployment optimization
  • Championing cloud governance and cost optimization, ensuring compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory standards
  • Leading DevOps and automation practices through infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform), with automation scripting in Python and Powershell
  • Collaborating across portfolios, engaging stakeholders, vendors, and governance bodies to shape future-ready cloud solutions

What you will bring

You’re a strategic and technically adept cloud expert with a passion for designing scalable, secure infrastructure that powers transformation. You thrive in complex, multi-cloud environments and enjoy collaborating across teams to turn enterprise strategy into resilient cloud solutions.

To succeed in this role, you will also need:

  • Extensive cloud expertise backed by tertiary qualifications and certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect and Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Proven experience in multi-cloud environments, with strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, data modelling, and ERP/LMS integration
  • Strong automation and scripting skills, with hands-on experience suing Terraform, Python, Bicep and Powershell and DevOps practices
  • Leadership in cloud governance, vendor management, and enterprise strategy alignment in complex environments
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on agile delivery, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement
