Summary

Worldline is hiring a Cloud Cybersecurity Specialist in Bucharest to serve as a senior security expert across its payment services and platforms. The role focuses on securing GCP/AWS cloud environments via technical assessments, architecture reviews, vulnerability management, and advising stakeholders on risk decisions.

The opportunity

As a Cybersecurity Expert, you will serve as a senior individual contributor who advances the security of our services, platforms, and operations. You will apply broad technical expertise to identify material risks, assess complex environments, shape practical solutions, and guide stakeholders toward sound security decisions.

The role works across cybersecurity domains and business areas rather than being limited to a single technology or workstream. You will collaborate with engineering, operations, risk, compliance, and other security teams, provide trusted advice to management, and help turn discoveries into sustainable improvements. Priorities may evolve as threats, technologies, and business needs change.

Day-to-day responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert and trusted technical authority across relevant cybersecurity domains.
  • Identify high-priority security problems, assess their business and technical impact, and drive them toward resolution.
  • Plan, perform, and coordinate technical security assessments, architecture reviews, risk analyses, and control evaluations.
  • Translate findings into clear, risk-based recommendations and work with accountable teams to define proportionate remediation.
  • Provide expert opinion to senior management and communicate complex security matters in a concise, decision-oriented manner.
  • Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, application, product, and operational teams to embed effective security practices and guardrails.
  • Contribute to vulnerability management, threat modelling, incident analysis, security monitoring, and offensive-security activities as required.
  • Strengthen cloud security by reviewing architectures, configurations, identities, data protection, monitoring, and secure engineering patterns.
  • Support security incidents and complex investigations through technical analysis, root-cause identification, and lessons learned.
  • Research emerging threats, technologies, and methods, and help evaluate or introduce innovative security capabilities.
  • Document and share discoveries, patterns, and solutions so that knowledge benefits the wider organization.

Who are we looking for

  • Hands-on experience securing public-cloud environments such as Google Cloud Platform or Amazon Web Services is mandatory.
  • 4+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • Deep expertise in at least one cybersecurity domain and broad working knowledge across areas such as cloud security, application security, infrastructure security, identity and access management, vulnerability management, detection and response, or offensive security.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct technical assessments, analyse complex risks, and develop practical remediation strategies.
  • Experience with security technologies and engineering practices, such as vulnerability scanning, cloud-native controls, identity platforms, security testing, and automation.
  • A strong drive to learn and continuously develop, combined with curiosity, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to sharing knowledge.
  • Professional security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CISM, OSCP, GIAC, or comparable credentials.
  • Experience with recognized security frameworks and standards, such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls, and applicable industry or regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in secure architecture, DevSecOps, security automation, threat intelligence, penetration testing, or digital forensics.
