Cloud Data Migration Architect

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Data Migration Architect to join a global data engineering program focused on large-scale cloud transformation and modern data platform migration initiatives.

Project information:

• Type of project: IT services

• Office location: Wrocław, Poland

• Work mode: Hybrid (remote with periodic client travel within EU)

• Travel requirement: Approximately 1–2 times every 2 months within EU

• Budget: 150-190 PLN net/ h- b2b

• Project length: Long-term

• Only candidates with citizenship in the European Union and residence in Poland

• Start date: ASAP (depending on candidate’s availability)

Project scope:

• Lead end-to-end cloud data migration initiatives from legacy data platforms to Google Cloud BigQuery

• Design and implement scalable cloud data architectures supporting enterprise-level workloads

• Define and execute migration strategies for Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, and hybrid data environments

• Work extensively with legacy systems, particularly Teradata, ensuring efficient and secure migration paths

• Support architecture decisions for Oracle/Exadata environments (preferred exposure)

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design data pipelines and integration flows using Databricks and Google Cloud Dataproc

• Contribute to data streaming and real-time processing initiatives within large-scale distributed systems

• Optimize SQL performance and ensure high-efficiency query execution across complex workloads

• Develop and support data engineering components using Python or Java

• Ensure best practices in data governance, security, and cloud architecture standards

• Participate in system design discussions, technical reviews, and migration planning workshops

Competence demands:

• Minimum 7+ years of experience in data engineering, cloud architecture, or large-scale data migration projects

• Strong hands-on experience as a GCP Data Architect with a focus on BigQuery migrations

• Deep expertise in Teradata (mandatory) and strong understanding of legacy enterprise data systems

• Experience with Oracle/Exadata environments (strong advantage)

• Proven track record in designing and delivering cloud data migration solutions (Data Lake, Data Warehouse, hybrid architectures)

• Practical experience with Databricks and Google Cloud Dataproc

• Strong proficiency in advanced SQL tuning and performance optimization

• Solid development experience in Python or Java

• Strong understanding of data streaming concepts and distributed data processing

• Excellent knowledge of cloud data architecture principles and best practices

• Ability to work in complex, global environments and coordinate with distributed teams

• Strong communication skills and fluency in English

• Italian language skills considered a strong plus
