Cloud Data platform Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Data Platform Engineer with strong expertise in Microsoft Azure, cloud data platforms, and database administration. The candidate will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and optimizing Azure-based data platforms, ensuring high availability, security, performance, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support Azure-based cloud data platforms, ensuring high availability and smooth operations.
• Administer Azure SQL, SQL Server, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, and Azure Data Lake Storage.
• Monitor platform performance, troubleshoot technical issues, manage incidents, and perform root cause analysis.
• Optimize database performance, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
• Manage user access, security, and governance using Microsoft Entra ID, Azure RBAC, Managed Identities, and Service Principals.
• Support Power BI, API integrations, and enterprise data integration requirements.
• Handle production deployments, environment provisioning, data migrations, backups, and disaster recovery activities.
• Develop automation scripts to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code for platform deployments.
• Use Azure DevOps, GitHub, Terraform/ARM templates, PowerShell, and Azure CLI for deployment and automation activities.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, and standard operating procedures.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Azure data platform services.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL, SQL Server, and Azure Data Lake Storage.
• Experience in cloud platform administration and database administration.
• Knowledge of SQL, T-SQL, database performance tuning, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Understanding of incident management, troubleshooting, security, and data governance.
• Experience with Power BI and API integrations.
• Basic knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, and Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or ARM templates.
• Working knowledge of PowerShell, Azure CLI, and automation scripting.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Azure cloud administration, data platforms, and database management.
• Hands-on experience in Azure Databricks administration along with knowledge of Azure services.
• Understanding of cloud security, governance, and platform reliability best practices.
