Cloud DevOps Engineer- GCP and Azure- Major Bank

A major bank is currently seeking a GCP Cloud Devops Engineer with Azure to join their team. This is a 12 month contract likely to extend. The role can be based out of Sydney or Melbourne and the team work 2 days a week in the office.
Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure across Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure.
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, including reusable modules and automated provisioning.
• Deploy, configure, and support Kubernetes platforms, including GKE and AKS.
• Implement cloud platform automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure deployment workflows.
• Apply cloud security best practices, including IAM, networking, secrets management, and policy enforcement.
• Monitor platform performance, availability, reliability, and operational health.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, Kubernetes, and deployment issues.
• Collaborate with platform engineering, DevOps, security, and application teams to deliver reliable cloud solutions.
• Contribute to cloud governance, operational standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Skills / Experience:

• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its core infrastructure services.
• Strong Microsoft Azure, including cloud infrastructure, networking, identity, and platform services.
• Cloud landing zones, platform engineering frameworks, and enterprise cloud governance.
• Advanced Terraform
• Kubernetes experience
• Experience with CI/CD tools and Git-based workflows.
• Solid understanding of cloud networking, security, IAM, observability, and high availability.
• Experience working in large-scale, enterprise or regulated environments.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and automated security controls.
• Relevant GCP or Azure cloud certifications.
