Role and level: Junior-Mid Cloud/DevOps Engineer (with a Cyber/Cloud Engineering experience)
Scope of work / JD: Help on some self-contained or maintenance tasks primarily the following:
Container & image hygiene: Migrate all consumers of the serverless image to the CI image with regular patching (currently WIP, needs expanding); update all CloudEng tools Docker images and verify no breakage across dependent repos.
Database (RDS): Upgrade all instances to the latest major version; RDS schema consolidation (excluding cases only required for MVNE); potentially start with standalone non-cluster instances first, then re-evaluate.
Serverless: Lambda upgrades across all CloudEng repos first, then assess whether scope can extend further.
Repo & CI/CD modernisation: Migrate CloudEng repos to GitHub Actions; migrate CloudEng repos to CDK; GitHub hardening (e.g. CODEOWNERS).
Observability: Identify and create any alerts not yet in place.
Governance & cost: Drive the AWS tagging initiative (bulk tagging, etc.); cost-related optimisation tasks.
Security follow-through: Follow up with repo owners to close out secure-code issues.
BAU intake: Pick up requests in the CloudEng public channel, starting with simpler tasks.
