Cloud Engineer
Summary
Design, deploy, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure, including VMs, storage, networking, and CI/CD pipelines using IaC and scripting.
Our client is looking for an Azure Cloud Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure. This is a day rate contract based in Cork.

Key Responsibilities:
- Build, configure, and support Azure cloud environments to meet business and operational requirements.
- Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure components, including Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Networking, and App Services.
- Automate deployment and operational tasks using scripting languages and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
- Monitor cloud resources, optimise performance, and implement security best practices across Azure services.
- Design and manage container-based solutions using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Create and enhance CI/CD pipelines to streamline application and infrastructure deployments.
- Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to deliver reliable cloud-based solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues while ensuring high availability and resilience.
Required Experience:
- 5+ years of hands-on professional experience designing, deploying, and managing Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Virtual Networks, and App Services.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as PowerShell, Python, or Azure CLI.
- Practical experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
- Good understanding of cloud networking, security, monitoring, and automation concepts.
- Experience implementing scalable, resilient, and secure cloud solutions in enterprise environments.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
