Cloud Engineer
Summary
Cloud engineer at ESDlife (a CK Hutchison company) who designs, implements, and maintains a private cloud platform and PaaS in Hong Kong, automating infrastructure and deployments via IaC/CaC and CI/CD pipelines. Core stack: Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, MySQL/PostgreSQL, S3, Linux.
Key Responsibilities
Work with vendor to design, implement, and maintain private cloud platform and PaaS in alignment with organisational security and compliance requirements.
Collaborate with other technical teams to ensure seamless integration, scalability, and high availability of cloud services.
Automate the provisioning and configuration of IaaS and PaaS through Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and Configuration-as-Code (CaC) tools.
Automate application deployment using standard pipelines.
Troubleshoot and resolve cloud related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and high system resilience.
Requirements
4 years or more of experience in private cloud platform and PaaS within IT environment.
Proven experience in deploying and managing workloads on major cloud platforms in hybrid or private cloud environments.
Strong hands-on experience with Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, S3, Linux, and cloud-native technologies.
Experienced in AIOps and Model-as-a-Service (MaaS) management.
Experienced in implementing secure-by-design principles.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on operational efficiency and system reliability.
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Excellent command of English and Chinese, with fluency in Mandarin.
Relevant experience in software development is an advantage.
A formal architecture certification from a major cloud provider or equivalent is highly desirable.
