Cloud Engineer (GCP) at BairesDev

In this role, you'll contribute hands-on engineering work to an AI-driven mainframe modernization practice, helping build the cloud infrastructure that supports legacy COBOL systems being regenerated in Java, Go, or .NET on GCP. Working within project pods alongside senior architects, you'll implement modernization solutions and data pipelines while gaining exposure to real client-facing delivery. This is your opportunity to build hands-on GCP experience within a structured consulting environment, contributing directly to complex modernization efforts.

What You'll Do:

- Implement and support application modernization solutions on GCP.
- Build and maintain data pipelines and analytics infrastructure using BigQuery.
- Contribute to requirements gathering and technical documentation for modernization projects.
- Collaborate with distributed engineering teams within a fully GCP-based environment.

What we are looking for:

- 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering with GCP.
- Experience with application modernization, contributing to re-architecting legacy or mainframe-class systems into Java, Go, or .NET.
- Background in data architecture on GCP including BigQuery and data pipelines.
- Exposure to consulting or professional services delivery in project-based, client-facing environments.
- Familiarity with AI engineering practices such as harness engineering or spec-driven design.
- Experience with requirements gathering.
- Familiarity with test-driven design.
- Advanced proficiency in English.

Nice to have:

- Mainframe or COBOL domain familiarity.
- Experience with DORA metrics.
- QA discipline and practices.
