Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer / Support Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Java, Elasticsearch, and Kafka. The role primarily focuses on developing, maintaining, and optimizing search functionalities, managing data streaming, and supporting cloud-based applications.
The ideal candidate should have strong Java development skills, experience working with Elasticsearch and Kafka, and the ability to troubleshoot and support enterprise-scale applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain applications using Java, Elasticsearch, and Kafka.
- Design, implement, and optimize search functionalities using Elasticsearch.
- Work with Kafka for event streaming, messaging, and efficient data processing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and optimize scalable application solutions.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for cloud-based applications.
- Monitor application performance, identify bottlenecks, and ensure system reliability and availability.
- Participate in application design, development, maintenance, and production support activities.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
- 6–10 years of overall experience in software development, cloud engineering, or application support.
- Strong hands-on experience in Java development.
- Solid experience with Elasticsearch, including search implementation and optimization.
- Strong experience with Apache Kafka, including messaging, event streaming, and data processing.
- Good problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Good to Have
- Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Exposure to Vector Search Engineering.
- Knowledge of GCP Search and Google Retail.
- Experience with cloud-based application architecture and operations.
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant professional certifications are also acceptable.
