What can you expect in this role?
We are looking for a Cloud Engineer Co-op. Through this work, you will apply both technical and analytical skills while gaining hands-on experience with cloud platforms, DevOps automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, and AI-powered engineering tools. You will gain significant exposure to AWS and Google Cloud Platform, CI/CD pipelines, cloud operations, observability, and emerging AI technologies, while helping improve developer productivity, platform reliability, and engineering efficiency.
This is an ideal opportunity for third- and fourth-year students pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. This position reports to the Technology Solutions - Infrastructure & Cloud Engineering team.
What you’ll be doing
- Build and automate cloud solutions using AWS, GCP, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices to improve platform reliability, scalability, and developer productivity.
- Develop AI-powered engineering tools and agents leveraging Gemini, Vertex AI, and enterprise-approved AI services to automate documentation, code analysis, testing, and operational tasks.
- Improve developer experience through automation, including repository documentation generation, pull request summarization, self-service tooling, and platform workflows that reduce manual effort for engineering teams.
- Assist with cloud operations and observability, analyzing logs, troubleshooting incidents, creating dashboards, and using AI-assisted insights to accelerate root cause analysis and improve service reliability.
- Research, prototype, and measure AI use cases that drive measurable productivity gains across Cloud Engineering, such as automated testing, access reviews, cost optimization, and operational intelligence.
What you bring
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technology discipline.
- Foundational knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform), including compute, storage, networking, and security concepts.
- Experience with at least one programming language such as Python, Java, Go, or JavaScript, with the ability to develop scripts, APIs, or automation solutions.
- Understanding of Generative AI concepts and tools, including exposure to Gemini, Vertex AI, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI-assisted development technologies, with a passion for using AI to improve engineering productivity.
- Familiarity with DevOps and automation practices, including Git, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform preferred), and automated testing concepts.
