Cloud Network Engineer

Summary

Designs, implements, and manages secure, scalable cloud networking on Microsoft Azure or GCP — covering virtual networks, routing, NAT, DNS, load balancing (Application Gateway), and Kubernetes (AKS/GKE) networking — for enterprise-grade environments, including troubleshooting and security compliance.

Role Objective

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Network Engineer with expertise in designing, implementing, and managing secure, scalable cloud networking solutions on Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with cloud networking services, routing, NAT, DNS, Application Gateway (or equivalent), and Kubernetes networking (AKS or GKE). The role requires a strong understanding of cloud network architecture, connectivity, security, and troubleshooting to support enterprise-grade environments.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage cloud networking infrastructure on Azure or GCP.
  • Configure and maintain virtual networks, subnets, routing, DNS, NAT, firewall rules, and network security components.
  • Deploy, configure, and optimize Azure Application Gateway (or equivalent cloud load balancing solutions).
  • Configure and manage networking for Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or equivalent Kubernetes platforms.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity, routing, DNS resolution, and application access issues in cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and DevOps teams to implement secure and scalable network architectures.
  • Monitor network performance and recommend improvements to ensure high availability, security, and reliability.
  • Ensure cloud networking solutions comply with organizational security standards and best practices.
  • Document network architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.

Requirements

Primary Skillsets

  • Cloud Networking (Azure or GCP): Hands-on experience with networking services in either Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Routing & NAT: Strong understanding of IP routing, route tables, NAT configuration, and network traffic management.
  • DNS: Experience configuring and troubleshooting cloud-based DNS services.
  • Application Gateway / Load Balancing: Hands-on experience with Azure Application Gateway or equivalent cloud-native load balancing solutions.
  • Kubernetes Networking: Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or similar managed Kubernetes platforms, including ingress, networking, and service connectivity.

Secondary Skillsets

  • Knowledge of hybrid connectivity solutions such as VPN or dedicated cloud connectivity.
  • Familiarity with cloud network security concepts, firewalls, and Zero Trust principles.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar) is an added advantage.
  • Exposure to cloud monitoring and network troubleshooting tools.

Relevant Experience

  • Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience in cloud networking.
  • Experience designing and supporting enterprise cloud network infrastructures on Azure or GCP.
  • Relevant cloud certifications such as AZ-700, AZ-104, or Google Professional Cloud Network Engineer are preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
