Cloud Operations Engineer (7*24 Rotation)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Operations Engineer to support cloud infrastructure operations for a key telecommunications client based in Cyberjaya, Selangor.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the continuous monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of cloud infrastructure within a 24/7 rotating shift environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Work on a 24/7 rotating shift schedule, including public holidays, and be prepared to respond to on-site incidents within 30 minutes.

2. Administer and configure essential Alibaba Cloud services, including ECS, RDS, SLB, Redis, and OSS. Monitor cloud resources, manage autoscaling, troubleshoot technical issues, and optimize operational costs.

3. Support and maintain Linux systems (CentOS/Ubuntu), create Shell scripts to automate operational tasks, and manage Docker containers and Kubernetes (K8s) clusters, including deployment, troubleshooting, and resource scheduling.

4. Use monitoring and log management tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, and ELK to efficiently identify, investigate, and resolve infrastructure alerts and issues.

5. Manage cloud security groups, firewalls, and vulnerability assessments. Implement data backup and disaster recovery procedures while maintaining strict compliance with cybersecurity and data confidentiality requirements.

6. Perform daily administration and maintenance of Nginx web servers and MySQL databases, applying strong knowledge of networking technologies, including TCP/IP protocols, VLAN, and OSPF.

Qualifications & Requirements

1. Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, or higher qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Network Engineering, Information Security, or a related field.

2. At least 3 years of hands-on experience in technical operations and maintenance, preferably within an enterprise-level cloud operations and maintenance environment.

3. Strong expertise in Linux system administration (CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE), covering user and access permissions, file system management, performance optimization, resource monitoring, and efficient troubleshooting.

4. Good understanding of essential network protocols, including TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, and DHCP, along with practical experience in VPC architecture (subnets and routing) and network security configurations such as firewalls, security groups, VPNs, and SSL certificates.

5. Proficiency in major public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Alibaba Cloud, Huawei Cloud, or Tencent Cloud. Practical experience managing core cloud services, including computing (virtual machines, containers, serverless), storage (object, block, file), networking, and cloud databases, will be an added advantage.

6. Professional proficiency in both Chinese and English to support effective cross-border communication and coordination with vendors.

7. Maintain a professional track record with no cybersecurity violations and demonstrate strict compliance with data confidentiality, professional ethics, and risk management standards.
