ASRC Federal Cloud Operations Engineer
ASRC Agile Decision Sciences is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems. We are seeking a highly motivated Cloud Operations Engineer to join the SSDS team in Moorestown, NJ.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in containerization, orchestration, and cloud-native technologies, who can also collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams. Individual will play a key role in maintaining an onsite virtualization environment.
Responsibilities:
Manage and support containerized environments using Podman, Docker, and Docker Compose
Deploy, monitor, and scale applications on Kubernetes clusters
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable and repeatable deployments
Work with development, security, and product teams to plan, deploy, and maintain services
Document operational procedures and create clear runbooks Proficient with scripting languages such as Bash, Python.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or higher (in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related field) or equivalent related work experience
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance; U.S. Citizenship is required
This position requires the successful applicant to obtain and maintain the required security clearance or other authorization(s) within the necessary timeframe required by applicable contract(s)
5-7+ years’ experience Cloud Ops, Site Reliability Engineering, or DevOps
Hands-on experience with Podman, Docker, and Docker Compose in production environments
Solid experience deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters
Proficient with scripting languages such as Bash, Python
Experience with version control tools, we use Git
Strong skills with Integrated Development Environments (IDE) such as Eclipse
Experience with monitoring/logging tools, like Prometheus and Grafana
Strong understanding of networking, security, and IAM in cloud environments
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to explain technical issues clearly to both engineers and non-engineers
Comfortable participating in team planning meetings, and stakeholder updates
Familiar with driver-based and automated test environments
Experience with the following is considered a plus:
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
Familiarity with Podman in rootless environments
Experience with operating IL5/IL6 compliance environments
Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP
Prior experience in high-availability or regulated environments (e.g., HIPAA, SOC2)
