Cloud Operations Manager (GCC / Government Project)
We are looking for an experienced Cloud Operations Manager to lead and oversee cloud operations within a large-scale government environment. The role will focus on ensuring the reliability, security, performance, and operational readiness of cloud platforms and services, while working closely with technical teams, vendors, and government stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage day-to-day cloud operations and service delivery across government cloud environments.
- Oversee the availability, reliability, performance, capacity, and security of cloud infrastructure and platform services.
- Manage operational activities involving Government Commercial Cloud (GCC) and public cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
- Establish and maintain cloud operational processes, standards, SOPs, runbooks, and governance controls.
- Monitor cloud infrastructure and applications, ensuring incidents and service disruptions are identified and resolved within agreed SLAs.
- Lead incident, problem, change, and service request management, including major incident coordination and root cause analysis.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve platform stability, operational efficiency, automation, and service quality.
- Work closely with engineering, DevOps, application, cybersecurity, and infrastructure teams to support cloud deployments and production operations.
- Ensure cloud environments comply with relevant government security policies, governance requirements, and operational standards.
- Manage cloud-related risks, vulnerabilities, patching, access controls, configuration compliance, and remediation activities.
- Oversee cloud resource utilisation, capacity planning, optimisation, and cost management.
- Manage and coordinate external vendors and service providers, including tracking service performance and SLA compliance.
- Provide operational reporting, dashboards, service metrics, risk updates, and management reporting to key stakeholders.
- Support business continuity, disaster recovery, backup, and resilience planning for critical systems.
- Mentor and guide cloud operations engineers, providing technical and operational leadership to the team.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong experience in cloud infrastructure, cloud operations, platform operations, or infrastructure service management.
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise or government environments is highly preferred.
- Good knowledge of Government Commercial Cloud (GCC) environments and Singapore Government ICT operations will be an advantage.
- Hands-on knowledge of AWS and/or Microsoft Azure cloud services.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, compute, storage, IAM, monitoring, security, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with automation and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or similar technologies.
- Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, containers, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native technologies will be advantageous.
- Good knowledge of IT service management processes including Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration, and Service Management.
- ITIL certification or experience working within an ITIL-based operational environment is advantageous.
- Strong stakeholder, vendor, team management, and communication skills.
- Able to manage critical production incidents and coordinate multiple technical teams in a fast-paced environment.
