Cloud Platform Engineer - Azure Infrastructure

$165k + super + bonus | Hybrid working | Flexible working | Up to six weeks' leave

A leading Australian financial services organisation is looking for a hands-on Cloud Platform Engineer to join its Cloud Services team.

This is an operational Azure infrastructure position, best suited to someone who started their career in Windows Server, systems engineering or infrastructure and has made the transition into cloud. It is not a pure DevOps, software engineering or Kubernetes-heavy platform role.

You will be close to the environment-owning the day-to-day operation, support, patching and ongoing improvement of a critical Azure estate.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide L2/L3 operational support across Azure-hosted Windows and Linux infrastructure.
  • Own regular patching activities: planning maintenance, coordinating outages, testing changes, deploying patches and resolving remediation items.
  • Troubleshoot complex incidents, contribute to major incident response and participate in an on-call roster supporting critical systems.
  • Build and maintain automation using PowerShell and/or Python.
  • Develop and support Terraform-based infrastructure-as-code, with ARM/Bicep experience also valuable.
  • Improve monitoring, alerting, operational processes, documentation and cloud service reliability.
  • Work alongside internal technology teams and vendors on cloud uplift initiatives and continuous improvement.
  • Support a secure, resilient and well-governed Azure platform.

What we're looking for

  • Strong Windows Server, systems administration or infrastructure engineering background.
  • Hands-on experience operating production workloads in Microsoft Azure.
  • Proven experience with server/infrastructure patching, vulnerability remediation and incident management.
  • Terraform and PowerShell experience, with Python, ARM or Bicep advantageous.
  • Comfortable supporting both Windows and Linux workloads.
  • Monitoring tool experience-LogicMonitor is highly regarded, though exposure to Azure Monitor, SCOM or similar is also relevant.
  • Someone who enjoys owning the operational outcome and improving the environment over time.

What's on offer

  • $165k + super + bonus
  • Hybrid model: currently one day per week in the office
  • Up to six weeks' annual leave
  • A stable, well-supported environment with genuine scope to deepen your Azure and automation capability
