Build the security foundations of next-generation connected technology. We're partnering with an Australian technology company that's building highly sophisticated, cloud-native platforms at the intersection of software, connectivity, edge computing, and IoT.

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Cloud Security Engineer to take ownership of an enterprise AWS security environment and help shape the future direction of cloud security, application security, and DevSecOps within a rapidly growing engineering organisation.

You'll work alongside highly capable software, cloud, and data engineers to design, implement, and continuously improve security controls across complex cloud environments supporting real-time, connected systems.

What you'll be doing

• Designing and implementing security guardrails across multi-account AWS environments
• Owning and maturing the AWS security ecosystem
• Embedding security practices throughout the software development lifecycle
• Conducting security assessments, threat modelling, and vulnerability analysis
• Integrating security tooling into CI/CD pipelines
• Partnering with engineering teams to drive DevSecOps adoption
• Contributing to secure network architecture and connectivity
• Implementing security controls using Infrastructure as Code
• Supporting secure IoT communications and cloud-based data flows
• Leading or supporting incident response and remediation activities
• Continuously improving security monitoring, detection, and compliance capabilities
• 5+ Yrs Cloud Security experience

Your technical background will include:AWS Security Strong hands-on experience with:

• AWS Security Hub
• GuardDuty
• IAM
• Identity Center
• AWS WAF
• Cognito
• Inspector
• AWS Organizations
• Service Control Policies (SCPs)

Application Security Experience with:

• OWASP Top 10
• Secure code reviews
• SAST and DAST tools
• Threat modelling
• Vulnerability management
• Security testing within CI/CD environments

Cloud & DevOps Experience working with:

• CloudFormation and/or AWS SAM
• GitHub Actions and/or GitLab CI
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Security automation
• Modern software engineering practices

Networking & Connectivity Strong understanding of:

• VPC
• Transit Gateway
• VPN
• Route 53
• Cloud networking from a security perspective

Nice-to-have experience

• AWS IoT Core
• Python, Golang, or Rust
• CISSP, AWS Security Specialty, OSCP, or similar certifications
• Compliance frameworks and security auditing
• Highly regulated or mission-critical environments
