NALEJ is hiring a Cloud Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to support the reliability, security, and scalability of our AWS-hosted infrastructure. This role blends DevOps, SRE, and cloud engineering to ensure production systems meet mission-critical demands and compliance standards. You’ll work hands-on with Kubernetes (EKS), Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines, collaborating closely with engineering and security teams.

Clearance Requirement: Active or Interim DoD Security Clearance
Certification Requirement: IAT Level II (e.g., Security+, SSCP, or CCNA Security)
Travel: Occasional
On-Call: Yes (shared rotation)
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage AWS infrastructure (EKS, EC2, IAM, VPC, ECR) using Terraform.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability using Prometheus and Grafana.
- Enforce DoD compliance policies and infrastructure security controls.
- Troubleshoot and optimize Kubernetes workloads in EKS.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and manage state with GitOps workflows.
- Participate in on-call support and maintain detailed run books.
- Collaborate with development teams to promote DevSecOps practices.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship
- Active or Interim DoD Security Clearance
- IAT Level II Certification (Security+, SSCP, or CCNA Security)
- 3+ years experience with AWS and Terraform
- Kubernetes experience (EKS preferred)
- Strong Linux administration and scripting (Bash, Python, Go)
- Networking, VPC, IAM, and security best practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Argo, Ansible, Helm, and GitOps
- Familiarity with DoD STIGs or FedRAMP environments
- Knowledge of secure ingress/auth (SAML/OIDC)
- Background with secure or air-gapped AWS deployments
