Salary: $60,000 – $75,000 per month
About the role
We are looking for an experienced GCP Cloud Engineer to join a large-scale cloud transformation programme within a highly regulated FS enterprise environment. The role will focus on designing and building secure, scalable Google Cloud Platform (GCP) landing zones, while ensuring cloud environments meet regional security, governance and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
Design, build and enhance GCP landing zones for enterprise workloads
Develop cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Design and configure GCP networking, including VPCs, Cloud Router and hybrid cloud connectivity
Implement and enhance IAM, access controls and cloud security controls
Automate cloud infrastructure and operational processes using Python and scripting
Support the implementation of cloud logging, monitoring and audit controls
Work with security, architecture and engineering teams to translate technical and regulatory requirements into practical cloud solutions
Review existing cloud environments and identify opportunities to improve automation, security and scalability
About you
Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Experience designing and building cloud landing zones, rather than purely supporting existing environments
Strong experience with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
Good understanding of GCP networking, IAM and security controls
Programming or scripting experience with Python; Java exposure would also be beneficial
Experience working with CI/CD and cloud automation
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience within banking, financial services or another regulated environment would be advantageous
Experience with Cloud Run and Cloud Build
Knowledge of VPC Service Controls
