Cloud Support Administrator

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Cloud Support Administrator based in the United States.

This remote role is an opportunity to support and optimize complex Azure environments across multiple client accounts.
You’ll join a cloud escalations team responsible for resolving high-priority technical issues and maintaining reliable infrastructure.
The position combines hands-on cloud administration, networking, security, automation, and incident management.
You’ll work with technologies including Azure, Azure Virtual Desktop, Azure Site Recovery, Windows and Linux servers, and virtualization platforms.
The role also offers significant exposure to Infrastructure as Code, scripting, CI/CD, monitoring, and disaster recovery practices.
Strong client communication and problem-solving skills are essential, as you’ll translate complex technical challenges into clear solutions.
As part of a collaborative managed-services environment, you’ll help maintain secure, compliant, and high-performing cloud operations for diverse customers.

Accountabilities

  • Manage and administer Azure cloud environments, including customer infrastructure, monitoring, alerting, virtual resources, and the broader management stack.
  • Serve as an escalation point for technicians, investigating and resolving high-priority incidents in accordance with ITIL incident, problem, and change-management practices.
  • Administer network platforms, firewalls, VPNs, policy-based routing, load balancing, and related security configurations.
  • Configure and maintain Azure Virtual Desktop, Azure Site Recovery, disaster recovery solutions, and multi-client environments using Azure Lighthouse.
  • Manage Windows and Linux servers as well as Hyper-V and VMware virtualization environments.
  • Develop and maintain customer-specific runbooks, standard operating procedures, technical documentation, best practices, and automation processes.
  • Implement infrastructure automation using PowerShell and Bicep, while applying CI/CD practices and Infrastructure as Code for repeatable deployments.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on migrated and newly deployed environments and identify opportunities to improve reliability and operational performance.
  • Ensure cloud environments comply with relevant security and regulatory frameworks, including FedRAMP, IRS 1075, NIST-800, CIS Benchmarks, PCI-DSS, HIPAA/HITECH, and SOC 1/SOC 2 requirements.
  • Communicate technical issues, root causes, and recommended solutions clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other departments to incorporate client feedback, improve service delivery, and support successful customer outcomes.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation, including occasional nights and weekends, to provide escalated support and meet service-level commitments.
  • Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent professional experience.
    • 3+ years of hands-on Azure Cloud support or cloud administration experience.
    • Strong knowledge of Azure administration, with AZ-104 certification highly preferred; candidates without the certification must obtain it within 90 days of employment.
    • Experience supporting multiple client environments and working effectively in a managed-services or similarly diverse technical environment.
    • Practical experience with PowerShell, Bicep, Infrastructure as Code, automation, and CI/CD practices.
    • Experience administering networking and security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, policy management, policy-based routing, and load balancing.
    • Demonstrated ability to configure, administer, and troubleshoot Azure Site Recovery and apply sound disaster recovery practices.
    • Working knowledge of ITIL principles, particularly incident and problem management.
    • Experience with Windows and Linux servers; familiarity with Hyper-V and VMware is preferred.
    • Strong analytical and root-cause problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to learning and developing technical processes.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to clients and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team and across functions.
    • Ability to pass a U.S. Public Trust background check; candidates without an existing clearance must obtain it within 90 days of employment.
    • Ability to work remotely from the United States and participate in an on-call rotation, including nights and weekends when required.
