Cloud Systems Administrator

Role Purpose
The Cloud Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, reliability, security, and continuous improvement of the organization’s hybrid cloud infrastructure, with a cloud-first approach centered on Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role supports the design, deployment, operation, and optimization of cloud services, infrastructure platforms, identity systems, and core IT services while ensuring scalability, operational stability, and alignment with cybersecurity and governance standards. The position plays a key role in enabling growth, integration capability, infrastructure modernization, and secure digital transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure Administration

Administer and maintain Azure and AWS environments
Support deployment, configuration, monitoring, and optimization of cloud resources
Manage virtual machines, storage, networking, backup, and cloud-native services
Ensure cloud environments remain secure, stable, scalable, and cost-efficient

Identity & Systems Management

Manage Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), identity synchronization, and access controls
Support endpoint and device management platforms (Intune, Autopilot, etc.)
Administer core infrastructure services including DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and file services
Maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions

Infrastructure Operations

Support infrastructure monitoring, patching, maintenance, and lifecycle management
Participate in incident resolution and root cause analysis
Collaborate with Service Delivery teams to resolve escalated operational issues
Maintain operational documentation, standards, and runbooks

Security & Compliance Alignment

Implement cybersecurity policies and technical controls
Support vulnerability remediation and infrastructure hardening initiatives
Participate in audit preparation and compliance activities
Work closely with Cybersecurity teams to ensure policy adherence and risk mitigation

Cloud Optimization & Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities for automation and operational improvement
Contribute to infrastructure modernization initiatives
Support migration and integration activities related to acquisitions and growth
Assist in standardizing cloud and infrastructure practices across regions
Support infrastructure readiness and governance requirements for emerging AI-enabled platforms and services

Experience and Qualifications

5+ years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure, or cloud operations
Hands-on experience with:

Microsoft Azure
Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Windows Server administration
Active Directory / Entra ID
Microsoft Intune / endpoint management

Experience with virtualization, backup, and monitoring platforms
Good understanding of networking fundamentals and security best practices
Experience supporting hybrid infrastructure environments

Technical Skills

Azure administration (VMs, networking, identity, storage, monitoring)
AWS administration (EC2, IAM, VPC, backup, monitoring)
Identity and access management
Endpoint and device management
Infrastructure monitoring and troubleshooting
Backup and disaster recovery administration
PowerShell scripting and automation (preferred)

Preferred / Nice to Have

Exposure to AI-enabled cloud services or infrastructure supporting AI workloads
Familiarity with infrastructure automation and cloud governance best practices
Awareness of security and compliance considerations related to AI technologies
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code concepts or automation tooling is considered an asset
