Summary
Programs and operates coordinate measuring machines (Mitutoyo CMM) to inspect manufactured components: writes and modifies inspection programs, designs fixtures with engineering, trains teammates, and records and reports quality data.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Program new CMM programs.
- Run and program CMM to inspect manufactured components.
- Modify existing CMM programs for part changes or to streamline.
- Create programs to run multiple parts at one time.
- Work with engineering to design dedicated fixtures for manufactured components.
- Work with engineering to optimize tolerances and inspection criteria.
- Work with engineering to resolve design errors found in production.
- Train eligible team members in the operation of the CMM.
- Record, evaluate, and report quality data.
- Part Inspections – Vendor, Serialized, Stock Parts, and Finished equipment.
- Resolve quality-related problems with engineering, manufacturing, customers, and vendors.
- Initiate corrective action reports as needed.
- Review systems and processes to develop continued improvements and efficiencies.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Experience with running and programming Mitutoyo CMM.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Familiarity with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work

- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word and Excel).
Physical Demands:
- Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
- May be required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
