CNC Lathe - 1st Shift

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Lathe Operator to join our manufacturing team on 1st shift, (6:00 am - 2:30 pm). The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC lathe machines to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications. This role is crucial to maintaining the high quality and efficiency of our production operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce parts to specified tolerances and finish.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and job orders.
  • Load raw materials and ensure proper alignment and securement.
  • Monitor machine operations, making adjustments as needed to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  • Measure and inspect finished products using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
  • Record production data and maintain accurate logs of work performed.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and quality control personnel to resolve production issues.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience operating CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of G-code and editing.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Proficient with measuring tools and quality control procedures.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina to lift materials and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with specific CNC lathe brands (e.g., Mori Seiki, Doosan)
  • Knowledge of other machining processes (milling, grinding, etc.).

Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems
