McCabe's Mechanical Services, a Grote Company, manufactures custom stainless-steel equipment for the food-processing industry. We're looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to set up and operate our CNC mills and lathes.
This is a hands-on machining position working on a variety of custom parts rather than repetitive high-volume production.
What You'll Do
- Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to manufacture parts from prints and job specifications
- Set tooling, work offsets, speeds and feeds
- Make program and offset adjustments as needed
- Inspect your work using micrometers, calipers, indicators and other precision measuring tools
- Read and interpret blueprints, dimensions and tolerances
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling and quality issues
- Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the work area safe and organized
- Work independently to take jobs from setup through completed part
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Previous CNC machining experience with mills and/or lathes
- Experience performing machine setups
- Ability to read blueprints and understand dimensional tolerances
- Experience using precision measuring instruments
- Working knowledge of tooling, speeds, feeds and offsets
- Ability to independently produce quality parts from prints
Preferred, but not required:
- Haas mill and lathe experience
- Experience with Esprit CAM or comparable CAM software
- G-code programming or editing experience
- Experience machining stainless steel
- Experience with both CNC milling and turning
- Experience designing or building fixtures
We care more about strong machining fundamentals and the ability to learn than whether you've used every piece of software or equipment in our shop.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. Overtime may be required
Compensation & Benefits
- $20-30/hour based on machining experience and capabilities
- 3 weeks paid time off
- Paid holidays
- Medical insurance
- Dental insurance
- 401(k) with company match
- Other supplemental benefits such as life, AD&D, and vision insurance
If you're an experienced machinist who can set up CNC equipment and produce quality parts from a print, we'd like to talk with you — even if you haven't worked with Esprit or our exact equipment before.
