CNC Operator
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect raw materials and products to ensure there
are no visual defects; take corrective action as needed.
- Setup the job using the CNC machine in total
compliance with the specifications provided in accordance to the standard
operating instructions within the allotted time frame.
- Prepare simple program in machine control.
- Keep all assigned machines running for production,
ensuring productivity is maintained at 100% or above through proper set-ups and
operation of machinery to minimize cost to the department, while maintaining
schedule integrity.
- Ensure efficient and profitable operation of the
defined work center by optimum usage of tools, consumables, etc.
- Conduct stage inspection of the product at required
phases and make necessary records accordingly.
- Recognize potential problems with products or
processes and inform superiors to ensure that quality standards are
maintained.
- Conduct preventive maintenance daily to ensure
equipment is in good working condition by oiling, greasing, and periodically
freeing equipment of chips.
- Ensure machine maintenance is scheduled in
collaboration with maintenance department and adhere to it.
- To ensure proper documentation of work done and in
a manner well accessible every time.
- Maintain log book to ensure proper communication
regarding machine error / program error /missing program / accidents.
- Ensure proper handing over of machine and
instruction communicated to next shift operator.
- Train and guide the helpers in operating the
machine as per SOP when instructed.
- Strictly follow housekeeping procedures including
machine and tool equipment cleaning and ensure the surrounding area is
absolutely clean and in order.
- Follow company’s HSE guidelines in respect of all
operations undertaken and follow safety precautions highlighted in the SOP
& manuals. Communicate potential hazards immediately to supervisor.
- Perform any other job/task given by the Production
Supervisor to accomplish department objectives.
Requirements
- ITI (Machinist / Fitter) and basic CNC Programming
- Special training in tool making.
Experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of CNC Machining experience.
- Experience in 5 Axis CNC machines. Preferably DMG
machines.
Functional Skills & Specific Knowledge
- Fair understanding of G-codes
- Ability to read Engineering drawing
- Knowledge on Machinability of different metals
- Knowledge of Quality systems and procedures.
- Conversant with cutting tools & parameters like
speed, feed, etc.
- Precision measuring instruments & gauges
- General maintenance of machines
