CNC Setter / Operator
Role Summary Join our Machine Shop Manufacturing Team and play a key role in producing high-quality machined components that support critical industries worldwide, including biopharma, medical, water, food, and special processing sectors. Working as part of a skilled and collaborative team, you will set and operate CNC machinery to manufacture precision products in a fast-paced production environment. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your machining expertise, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and support the next generation of engineering talent through mentoring and knowledge sharing. This role supports Fixed Head CNC lathes (up to 10 axis) and offers the opportunity to make a real impact on product quality, efficiency, and operational excellence. What you’ll be doing Set and operate equipment within the Watson-Marlow Limited Machine shop (Falmouth), to ensure that all products are supplied efficiently, on time, in full and to the quality specification required to meet customer needs. Work with operators to maximise machine utilisation and support production performance. Promote strong Environmental Health and Safety practices throughout the Machine shop. Collaborate with the production team to deliver components in line with production plans and customer requirements. Use your knowledge and expertise to identify and implement best practice improvements. Maintain equipment through Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) and early fault diagnosis to ensure optimum performance and reliability. Support the TPM team activities and contribute to equipment improvement initiatives. Support the Global Excellence in Manufacturing (GEM / Lean) process and continuous improvement culture. Demonstrate and champion the company’s values in your daily work. Support 5s activities to maintain a safe, organised and efficient workshop environment. Work proactively with Team Leaders and Technicians to develop your skills and grow your career. Use and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support business continuity and operational consistency. Support the Quality Team on Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities.
