Summary

Senior Analyst Accounting maintains financial records, handles lease accounting, fixed assets, month-end close, and general ledger tasks using GAAP and accounting software.

The Senior Analyst, Accounting is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records by managing key accounting functions including lease administration, fixed asset tracking, capital expenditure analysis, and month-end close activities. This role plays an integral part in general ledger maintenance and financial reporting while supporting ad hoc accounting projects and cross-functional initiatives. The position operates with a high degree of independence, exercising judgment in complex reconciliations, accrual entries, and internal accounting controls.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
● Perform key month-end close processes, including preparing and reviewing complex journal entries, prepaid amortizations, reclassifications, and expense accruals
● Manage lease accounting operations, including lease software administration, lease schedule roll forwards, percentage rent calculations, and vendor/landlord
communications.
● Oversee fixed asset accounting, including tracking additions, disposals, and transfers, as well as performing CapEx budget-versus-actual spend analyses and capital line
funding reviews.
● Oversee and manage intercompany transactions, account balances, and cross-entity activity.
● Perform analytical reviews of general ledger accounts, administrative accounts, and account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
● Support corporate accounting functions, including P-Card activity entry, utility deposit tracking, and travel/expense reclassifications.
● Assist with quarterly and annual accounting tasks, sales reporting for external stakeholders, and audit schedule preparations.
● Execute ad hoc financial reporting, special accounting projects, and process improvement initiatives as assigned.

Success Factors: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Strong knowledge of US GAAP principles, general ledger accounting, fixed assets, and lease accounting concepts.
2. Experience with financial reporting, general ledger management, and month-end closing processes.
3. Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Oracle, or SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
4. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data manipulation, financial modeling, VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
5. High degree of analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skill to evaluate variance reports and complex journal entries.
6. Strong organization and time-management skills with the ability to manage strict month-end close deadlines.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with internal management, external vendors, and landlords.

Minimum Job Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
● 3-5 years (or 5+ years of progressive corporate accounting experience)

Supervisory Responsibility:
Individual contributor with no direct supervisory duties, though may provide guidance or backup coverage for peer accounting team members.
Working Conditions:
Standard corporate office environment with standard hours. Extended hours may occasionally be required during peak month-end or year-end close periods.
