Huawei Canada has an immediate 8-16month Co-op opening for Co-op Engineer.

About the team:

Founded in 2012, the Noah’s Ark lab has evolved into a prominent research organization with notable achievements in academia and industry. The lab’s mission focuses on advancing artificial intelligence and related fields to benefit the company and society. Driven by impactful, long-term projects, the aim is to enhance state-of-the-art research while integrating innovations into the company's products and services, including LLMs, RL, NLP, computer vision, AI theory, and Autonomous driving.

About the job:

  • Analyze and refactor source code from research prototypes

  • Implement and test new features on Android or HarmonyOS demo apps

  • Deploy AI models and research outcomes onto Huawei mobile devices

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate research outcomes into Huawei’s mobile system

The total target annual compensation for this position ranges from $58,000 to $104,000 depending on education, experience, and demonstrated expertise.

About the ideal candidate:

  • In pursuit of BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering

  • Proficient in at least one of the following programming languages: C/C++, Python, Typescript, or Java

  • Knowledge of Machine Learning

  • Excellent team player; strong collaboration and communication skills

  • Excellent documentation and organization skills

  • Knowledge of mobile development such as Android and IOS is an assets
