Language: Professional proficiency in German and English (minimum B2)
Set up: hybrid - 2 times in a month (in a row) in the office in Germany
Rate: 200-230 PLN/h + VAT
Summary
The role of Senior COBOL Developer / Architect is key for managing and developing critical applications within a large insurance company's mainframe environment. The primary goal is to ensure application stability and support continuous evolution through both hands-on coding and architectural leadership.
Main Responsibilities:
Design, develop, maintain, and enhance COBOL-based mainframe applications.
Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.
Support application lifecycle activities, including incident resolution, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
Perform impact assessments and define technical approaches for system enhancements.
Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term application evolution.
Ensure high-quality documentation and knowledge transfer.
Collaborate with distributed teams and business stakeholders in German and English.
Support operational activities and ensure adherence to established processes and SLAs.
Key Requirements:
Extensive experience with COBOL development in IBM Mainframe environments.
