JOB SUMMARY: Ensure the guests’ needs are promptly, efficiently and courteously met

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing/Walking: Constantly. Various surfaces including carpet, tile, and rubber mats.
  • Crouching (bend at knees): Occasionally. Clean; stock supplies.
  • Stooping (bend at waist): Occasionally. Write orders.
  • Twisting (knees, waist, neck): Frequently. Serve guests, view lounge, maneuver through crowds and staff.
  • Balancing: Constantly. Carry trays and beverage containers. Set items on tables.
  • Reaching (overhead/extension): Constantly. Reach overheard supplies. Serve guests and retrieve hot/cold plates at arm’s length extension.
  • Handling/grasping: Constantly. Set full plates and glasses at tables, carry trays and supplies.
  • Fingering/feeling: Frequently. Write orders, operate Micros machine, fold napkins.
  • Pushing/pulling: Occasionally. Move chairs and tables. Average weight: 10 lbs. force. Maximum weight 20 lbs. force.
  • Lifting/carrying: Constantly. Carry full trays of food and beverage; carry supplies. Average weight: 20 lbs. Maximum weight: 40 lbs.

Working Environment:

  • Interior of hotel, in all areas of the hotel.
  • Exterior of hotel with exposure to weather conditions.
  • Exposure to various hazardous chemicals.
  • Exposure to food items and beverages.

DUTIES & FUNCTIONS:

Essential:

  • Delivery of beverages to guests
  • Follow TABC law.
  • Promotes and up-sells liquor and food
  • Must be completely familiar with all the different kinds of liquor, recipes and prices of drinks, proper glassware and garnishes
  • Follows guidelines established in regards to age identification for suspected minors and when dealing with an intoxicated customer
    Basics:
  • Attend required meetings
  • Keep work areas clean and organized
  • Be extremely courteous to all customers and fellow employees
  • Report unsafe conditions to your supervisor immediately
  • Maintain hotel equipment in proper working conditions.
  • Any other duties assigned by your immediate supervisor
